WEATHER TRIVIA:
1857 – HURRICANE DIANE STALLS NEAR CAPE FEAR, N.C. WITH 120 MPH WINDS AND 18” OF RAIN.
WEATHER-CAST
LOOKS LIKE THE SOGGY WEATHER WILL GET LESS AND LESS AS WE CONTINUE INTO THE WEEKEND.
A SHOWER OR SOME DRIZZLE POSSIBLE INTO TONIGHT, OTHERWISE MOST OF THE TIME WILL BE RAIN FREE. TEMPS WILL BE NEAR OR JUST OVER 80 AND IT WILL BE HUMID. THE WEEKEND LOOKS NICE WITH A FAIR AMOUNT OF SUN…TEMPS INTO THE 80S AND HUMIDITY – MODERATE. AS FOR FLORENCE..SHE WILL BATTER THE CAROLINAS WITH HIGH WIND, STORM SURGE AND RAIN WHICH CAN EXCEED 25”…..AND THEN WEAKEN OUT AND WIND UP IN THE OHIO VALLEY NEXT WEEK.
THAT MEANS A NICE WEEKEND FOR US.
THE FORECAST:
TODAY: MOSTLY CLOUDY- CHANCE OF SHOWERS 75-80
TONIGHT: PARTLY CLOUDY- PATCHY FOG – LOWER 60S
FRI: PARTLY CLOUDY- 80-85
SAT: SUNNY AND WARM – MID 80S
| Florence has weakened overnight to a Cat 2…still nothing to sneeze at but there’s a good chance she will rebuild before hitting land over se N.Carolina. Florence will still slow down and enable her wind and rain to become the threat all have been talking about. Early next week the ghost of Florence rides up Appalachians – may bring a pounding of rain in her track. Below – today’s severe weather threat in dark green and yellow – followed by her track and timetable of wind. |
